Paper over boards.  This originally carried the same ISBN as the trade hardcover edition, and was reprinted in 1985 under the same ISBN as the 1983 trade paperback.  It's easy to wind up with an unexpected format when purchasing this book by the number.

Ballantine Mass Market Paperback.  Apparently three printings in this cover, Feb / Mar / Mar 1979.  Some March printings claim to be first printings.  RRP $2.95

Houghton Mifflin Trade Paperback.  This ISBN was also used for a BoMC HC edition (see above).  First printings are bloody HTF and have red covers with a Tolkien heraldic design;  the later cover design is shown.  Despite there being three possible correct images for this ISBN, Amazon, Muse, and eBay all have used the art from the 1998 illustrated hardcover jacket, which was never used for a Trade PB.  Printed at least 13 times.  RRP $7.95 - $15.95

This is the same book as above.  It was given a new ISBN with the new publishing label, though the portion of the ISBN-10 which identifies the publisher did not change, so this was still often marketed as a Ballantine.  The print numbers also did not start over - first Del Rey, 7th printing.  RRP $3.95 - $6.99
